Bruce Sutter is a former MLB relief pitcher who played for the Chicago Cubs, St. Louis Cardinals and Atlanta Braves over a 12 year career. He was one of the most dominate closers of his time. When Bruce finished his career with 300 saves, it was third most in history at the time. Bruce was a master of the split-finger fastball. He was a 6-time All-Star and we won a World Series in 1982 with the Cardinals. Bruce won the National League (NL) Cy Young Award in 1979 and he was named the NL's Rolaids Relief Man of the Year 4 times, while leading the NL in saves 5 times (the only pitcher to have ever done so.) He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2006 and his number has been retired by the Cardinals.
