Randy Gumpert was a right-handed MLB pitcher who played from 1936-1938 and 1946 to 1952 for five different teams. He won a World Series with the 1947 New York Yankees and was an All-Star with the Chicago White Sox in 1951. That same year he gave up what turned out to be the first MLB home run ever hit by Mickey Mantle. The 1952 season was Randy's last in MLB as a player, but he continued in baseball as a scout, coach and manager for another 39 years. Randy passed away in 2008 at age 90. His helmet would be a special gift for any White Sox, Yankees or Mickey Mantle fan.
